4 out of 5 stars Better Than 'Kissed A Girl'   October 22, 2008

As far as Katy Perry goes, 'Hot and Cold' is, IMO, a better song than 'I Kissed A Girl'. The initial appeal of 'Kissed A Girl' was the shock value...which was somewhat clever and creative...but that's about as far as the song went. br / br /The groove is stronger, and the chorus has a better melody for Katy to showcase her vocals. I'm not saying she's the greatest singer in the world or anything close to it, but this song is much less likely to become old like 'Kissed A Girl' did. I was tired of that one after just a few weeks. br / br /I think the fact that this song is not as "catchy" is actually in its favor...when long-term listening is factored in. I don't think it will be on the charts as long, and therefore won't be as overplayed.

This is another amazing performance by Katy Perry. The video proves that Katy Perry is far more than just a singer--she's an actress and top performer. She's sick in a fabulously ingenious way. I like the song but I love the video. It is HOT.

For those who think of Katy Perry was really just a poor wannabe artist, that seems what it feels like. Her sound has been more like the depth of Pink had shown with So What. Unfortunately, after I Kissed A Girl, she hasn't really shown herself enough to be a credible singer. Her second single Hot N' Cold, from her debut album One Of The Boys doesn't really feel like it clicks to the listeners' ear. I wasn't really impressed with the strength of the song. It actually felt more like it was a glass of near rancid milk, mixed in with a steaming cup of coffee. She really needs to find catchier songs than this one. Katy really feels like a cold shoulder, and hopefully her next song can really feel more like it is a better bag of tricks. br / br /Song: D-

Katy Perry's "Hot N Cold" is like the highly overrated burgers at California's In-N-Out. It's slightly memorable (the rhythm, the vocal effects are the cheese, mustard and pickles),but the rest of it is blandtasteless (the burger itself, and the bun) It's sufficiently catchy to warrant radioplay. However,it's not catchy enough. Perry's previous hit,"I kissed a girl",is a guilty pleasure song--"Hot N Cold" isn't THAT pleasurable. The video is superior to the song, with a bridal party that includes Jack Nicholson (or someone who looks a lot like him),a cross-dressing maid of honor, biker brides, and people breakdancing in an alleyway. It's Breakin' 2,Electric Boogaloo! "Hot N Cold" will leave you lukewarm.

This song is better than I kissed a girl because it shows her vocal abilities more. I think a lot of hatrid goes toward Katy since she seems to have an odd attraction to her own gender. This song isn't to much like I Kissed a Girl and her other songs because it's actually normal!!!
